Characters
The Oracle-The main character of the story. She has unlimited powers. Unfortunately she has to rediscover them again.
Aleatha-The girl who starts off has the nurse to the Oracle and later becomes her pupil.
Galta-One of four that thought they were strong enough together to overthrow The Oracle. She went insane with the stress of keeping The Oracle’s mind fogged and finally died. She taught the villagers a ward of silence. It was meant to keep The Oracle from waking, unfortunately for her no one in the village was strong enough to do that, and the villagers didn’t keep the ward up after she died.
Meelos-Eldest of the three elders. He listens to everyone and both elders then makes the final decision.
Trina-Second eldest of the village elders. Takes responsibility over family, housing, and marriages in the village.
Cyril-The youngest of the village elders. The most cynical of the three, he doubts everything and everyone.
Marta-Aleatha’s mother. The healer for the village.
Samantha- A large Black Panther, one of The Oracle’s familiars. This familiar has several names, this is just the most current one that she happens to like, what her true name is will have to be learned later.
Quaine-The Oracle’s champion. May have been a soldier at one time, certainly was trained as a soldier. Appears whenever she decides that she will be travelling. As her companion, bodyguard, and protector, he never leaves her side while on the road, always makes sure that the path ahead is safe for her.
Starling-The Oracle’s horse. He is a very regal, sturdy horse, not easily spooked, he will not let anyone else ride him. Quaine is the only other person that can handle him.
The Stablemaster-When the stable reappeared so did he. He is a being of unknown ancestry or origin. Every animal that comes into the stable is nurtured, healed, and taken care of by him. He is the only other person that can handle both quaine’s horse and The Oracle’s horse.
